Daria Consulting Pty Ltd commits to complying with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).  We’re an Australian firm principally providing services to Australian businesses.  If you provide any personal information to us, you are consenting to our collection, use and disclosure of that personal information in accordance with this policy.  We may update this policy from time to time and it is your responsibility to check this policy for updates.

If you are based outside Australia or might provide us with personal information concerning non-Australians, talk to us first about whether we should take a tailored approach to handling your data, to ensure we’re both complying with our legal obligations.

Types of personal information:  We may collect personal information from you such as your name and contact details (which may include your address, email address and phone number), plus details of services we will or have provided to you and any information you provide us about yourself which we need to deliver the services or respond to your enquiries. We encourage you not to provide more personal information than we specifically ask for.

Collection:  We will generally collect personal information directly from you in our communications and correspondence (eg. phone calls, emails, online calls and social media chats) if you are a client or business partner.  Occasionally we may receive information about you from third parties, such as from another party involved in a transaction we are working on with you, or a colleague or business partner of yours.

Purpose:  If you or the organisation you represent is a client, we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information principally to enable us to provide services to you or your organisation, and administer you or your organisation’s account and contract(s) with us.  We may also do so to:

  • send you or your organisation administrative messages, reminders and notices (including invoices) connected to our provision of services;

  • send materials which you or your organisation have requested;

  • send you occasional marketing and promotional messages that may be of interest, unless you’ve asked not to receive them;

  • explore business, employment, contracting or other professional opportunities with you or your organisation;

  • communicate with you concerning the affairs of our clients or their dealings with you or your organisation (if instructed by them); and

  • for other secondary purposes which are related to the purpose we originally collected the information for.

Storing:  We generally hold personal information in electronic form, but may also retain some limited hard copy records.  In both cases, we take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, misuse, interference or modification and loss by using appropriate technical and non-technical measures.  We store our electronic records with top-tier, globally recognised cloud hosting providers, on infrastructure based in Australia.

Marketing:  We may send you direct marketing communications via email.  We only do this infrequently.  You can opt out at any time by emailing info@dariaconsulting.com or using any other opt-out facilities we provide in the communication.

Disclosure:  We may disclose personal information for the purposes described above, to our employees and third party suppliers, subcontractors, business partners and service providers who assist and support us to provide services to you, and to other parties involved in any transaction we are assisting you with.  We may also disclose personal information to our professional advisers and agents, to anyone our business is sold or transferred to, and to any other person (eg. a government agency) if permitted or required by law.  We may also disclose your personal information to others if you have authorised this.

Third parties:  We sometimes use, and might invite you to use, third party applications and tools such as appointment schedulers or online forms.  These third party products are not controlled by us and the data and information you provide them are handled under the third party's terms and privacy policies, which aren't the same as ours.  Before opting to use any third party tools, please make sure you have reviewed and accepted the terms applicable to their use.  If we also receive the data you provide to the third party product, we'll comply with this policy in handling it.

Website and cookies:  We may collect information about your activity when you use and access our website, in particular, regarding your use of our website (eg. which pages you visit and when).  We may collect your IP address in this process but do not use it, or any other data, to attempt to identify you personally.  Information collected through use of our website will be used only to improve and inform our future website content and service offerings.  We may use “cookies” or similar tracking devices on our website to track website usage and preferences, but you can disable cookies through your internet browser.
